For 2011, this video was redone almost from scratch. All the original film from Fred Angus and John Mills was completely re-captured. The original 1990 UMATIC master tape, that has been laying dormant for 15 years, was used as a starting point. Each scene, edit point, and title was meticulously substituted with the newly captured film, to maintain the character of the orignal movie, but to also truely show the film shot by John Mills and Fred Angus in all it's glory.

This video presentation first provides a quick history of the Montreal streetcar system. Next, an overview of the system as it existed in the twilight years of the 1950s. Various routes and cars are shown along with recollections from Denis Latour and Lucien Dauphinais. This presentation finishes with the final parade, a good bye to the Montreal streetcar system.

A 8 1/2 by 14 inch double sided map is also included. One side is a copy of the November 1948 route map from the Montreal Tramways Company. The other side shows a track diagram from December 1948, by Omer Lavallee and A. Clegg. A high-resolution PDF of the route map is included on the DVD.

This video is a chronicle of 50 years of PCC’s running in Toronto. PCCs were introduced in Toronto in 1938. Multiple Unit operation began in 1949, and helped ease congestion as the subway was being built. By the 1950s, Toronto had the largest fleet in North America. The fleet slowly wethered away from the 1980s until finally being retired in November 1995.

The Grand Avenue was Toronto's widest transit corridor. Trolleys ran on a private reservation down the middle of the street. The Spadina line replaced the Belt Line trolley in 1923. Cars ran from a cross-over at Bloor to one at Fleet, the only downtown TTC route without loops. In October, 1948 buses replaced the double ended cars leaving the Harbord PCCs as the only street cars on Spadina until 1966 when trolley service ended. Bus service lasted until July, 1997. The video shows vintage films of trolleys on Spadina; the Harbourfront 604 line; and construction, opening day & TTS charter on the Spadina 510 line.

On September 6th, 2001 the TTC celebrated its 80th birthday with the return to Toronto of historic open car #327, which has been in regular seasonal service at the Halton County
Radial Railway in Milton, Ontario for over 30 years. Along with Peter Witt 2766, PC 4500, a CLRV, an ALRV, and some buses, 327 carried the official party leading the parade west on Queen to Spadina, north to College, east to Bay, south to Dundas, east to Church, and back to City Hall via Queen. This 60 minute video has a brief history of the car and shows this historic run with some comments from the organizers.
