Toronto’s Peter Witt Streetcars were the backbone of the city’s transportation network from 1921 until their retirement in 1963. The first part of this presentation shows these cars in regular service in the 1950s and 1960s. Take a trip along the Bay Carline in 1942, and in 1963. John Mills & Jack Knowles founding fathers of the OREHA comment on John Mills 1950’s film of the line. Narrated. 30 Minutes.
Part II focuses on 2766, the TTCs last remaining Peter Witt, and shows 2766 in tour tram service in the 1980s. As well as the 1988 CRHA Farewell charter. Narrated. 30 Minutes.
In Part III, shows the Halton County Museum’s 50th Anniversary charter of Peter Witt 2766 and PCC 4549 in Toronto, on April 18, 2004. Not narrated. 70 min.
